BRITISH COLUMBIA CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL FOUNDATION

In collaboration with community partners, the British Columbia Children’s Hospital Foundation will launch a network of free, online peer support programs for siblings aged 8-11 in British Columbia, Alberta, and the Yukon. This initiative focuses on underserved rural and urban communities, addressing the critical gap in sibling-focused resources through monthly virtual sessions and bi-annual in-person gatherings. The project aims to foster collaboration among existing pediatric support services and extend support to areas where it is currently lacking.

With our support, the foundation will establish a full-time Young Sibling and Family Engagement Advisor and several part-time facilitators at each partner site. These advisors will oversee the development of tailored curricula, provide training for facilitators, and ensure consistency in program delivery.

We are proud to help the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation expand its reach and address critical gaps in care for families in underserved communities.
