Funding will support the CAN-CARE Project, which works to support family caregivers who experience intimate partner violence while providing care. These caregivers face unique and compounding vulnerabilities that few programs in Canada currently address, and through this program, Caregivers Nova Scotia and its research partners will fill the gap in Canada’s caregiving and family violence response system. Funding will allow Caregivers Nova Scotia to create the first national framework that ensures caregivers living in unsafe or abusive relationships are not left to choose between their own safety and their loved one’s care.
